Between Ceremony & Reception

The Afternoon

The church and reception are about 45 minutes apart, with a few unhurried hours in between. Take your time getting from Villanova to Bryn Athyn — a few ideas along the way.

Right by Cairnwood

Bryn Athyn Historic District

Steps from the reception, the soaring Bryn Athyn Cathedral and castle-like Glencairn Museum are open into the afternoon — worth seeing even from the grounds.

On the Main Line

Downtown Wayne

Minutes from the church: a walkable main street of cafes and shops, and the historic Wayne Hotel bar — an easy place to relax before heading north.

Along the way

King of Prussia

Plenty of spots for a late lunch or coffee, roughly between the two venues. (Dinner isn't until the evening, so a snack is a good idea.)

Simplest of all

Settle In Early

Prefer to take it slow? Head to your hotel, freshen up, and arrive at Cairnwood relaxed and ready for cocktails at five.
